My question is aimed at people who have the Norge type panniers. Are the panniers secure without using the wire clips,or are they likely to fly off the bike.I have a Stelvio with the Norge panniers, and the left hand pannier clip does not line up with the metal spigot on the footrest,so I cannot use it.I have not used the panniers until now and just want to make sure before going off to France with them next week. Thanks for any comments in advance.

I never bothered latching those clips on the Norge I had, and they never flew off. Of course that is not a fool proof thing. Only that I never had any trouble.

My left hand pannier is the same. As a temp measure I have squared off a wine bottle cork and pushed in to the pannier bracket by the seat to prevent any rearward movement. Don't know whether this is necessary but does give piece of mind. Due to the comments have now covered it with black insulating tape and claimed it is a Guzzi part!! Will see what the Dealer says re bracket at next service. Going to France week after next to Coupes Moto Legend too.

This sounds crazy - I have exactly the same malfunction and thought it was just mine...
I just make an extra check now and then and drives without the extra secure...

For info my clips fit the mounts but I had to use some of the adjustment in the foot peg pannier mounts though.

I assume you have tried to adjust the pannier clamps?

Other than that it must just be bad manufacturing quality I guess?

By the way who makes the plastic Guzzi panniers for them?
