Panniers and payload

Chris, in relation to the panniers, you mentioned the silver & black panniers as the "standard ones" , are you saying an option of coloured ones are available? i.e red & black .

also do you know what the payload/vehicle max Load is on the bike, I've been searching the nett but can't find anything, is it noted in your user manual?? Just want to see how it compares to my 1200 sport which is 230kg.

enjoy the bike.

As for max load it should be 210 kg, 233 kg weight in running order, 443 kg max total weight

Regarding panniers, the side ones are black/silver only as far a I know and the top case has the same base colors, but you can have it with black back rest for all the versions except the version with brown backrest for Verde 2121 color.

Jan,

210 Kgs you say, well that’s puts a whole new perspective on whether to purchase one.

If I only toured by myself it wouldn’t be an issue, but as a two up tourer for a couple that enjoy good living (combined weight around the 200kg mark) its most probably not the most suitable machine.

I appreciated that people do overload their bikes on occasion, but for me it’s not like touring two up is a once in a blue moon event , i.e my 1200 Sport has now done over 250,000km’s and “Cath the Pillion in a Million” has accompanied me for more than 80% of those k’s.

Sure I could loose some weight (Doctors been on may case for a couple of years about it now), or we could forget about riding in full protective gear (I reckon helmet, jackets, leather pants boots etc work out at about 10kg each) , but as it is, before even adding weight of panniers, top box and their contents we’ve exceed payload of the V100. ….. Now that I taken the time to add everything up, I’m overloading the Sport but no where near as much as if we went down the V100 path.

I’ve changed suspension to address the extra weight the Sport carries and this has made a huge difference in handling, I suppose I could do the same with the V100.

We wont see the V100 on Australian shores for 6 months or so (at the earliest) so we'd better start eating more “rabbit food”, and who knows maybe a "Grigio Avanguardia" will find its way into the garage.

I may be wrong but the payload on the 1200 sport is 218kg ...
So you only have to loose 4 kg each... no problem 😉

Yes, in manual there is 443 kg total weight and 233 kg kerb weight. My former V85 TT Travel had 219 kg of payload, so no big difference there as long as I will save 3 kgs with lion battery on my V100 S ;-) so it will be 219 kg vs 213 kg at the end
