I'm reassembling the timming side of the engine. The camshaft has a centrifugal disk (aluminium) and a phonic wheel.
The parts diagram shows the centrifugal disk (item 22) behind the phonic wheel (Item 8). If this is the case the centrifugal disk fouls the three bolts of the brass/bronze ring (item 5) holding the camshaft in place and the phonic wheel is too far forward of the sensor.
With the centrifugal disk in front of the phonic wheel the phonic wheel is correctly aligned with the sensor and the phonic wheel buts up against the brass/bronze ring to stop lateral play of the camshaft. The latter seems correct. Unfortunately, I missed this in my note taking. My engine number is 12522.
Can anyone confirm I'm right?

Take a look at the service manual. It should give the correct assembly sequence. Not uncommon for a parts diagram to be a bit off, which is why you should use the maintenance manual for correct assembly and disassembly.

I did John. Eng-48 shows the phonic wheel without the centrifugal disk before or after my engine version that has the centrifugal disk KP011313-KP013216. My engine is KP012522 in this range and has he disk. The service manual is probably on an engine before this.
The pdf I'm using is Breva1100_052007_Atel(GB). I will check now and see if I can find a different version of the service manual.
