Re: Peter N's RDL saddle

Which Meyer built it, Rick or Bill Jr.? They use different techniques.

I'm headed to Ojai tonight after work, for a Bill Meyer fitting tomorrow. They've done two others in the last few weeks. I guess that'l make 3 of the 6 or so Stelvios in the US.

Not to detract from any Russell discussion, but I'm apparently one of the two with a new Bill Mayer. Haven't had a chance to put many miles on it yet, but I leave Monday for about 3000 miles from Texas to Vegas to Denver then home. Should be broken in by then, hoping for a drastic improvement over stock.

Wait a minute here... A Russell Daylong is not a Meyer seat...
I know about the family line and the 2 Mayer brothers work separately as does the Russell Co. with a totally different style of building a saddle..

The picture is of a Russell- I know I have had 2 of them.

I by passed all 3 of them with my own local biker upholster for 1/2 the $$$.

Right, which is why I said -

Sorry, I shouldn't have hijacked the thread. Peter N's Day-Long is a great looking seat.

I'm sorry for confusing things, I just thought with only a dozen (or so) Stelvios in the US it was appropriate to put all the seat talk together. Actually, I believe I'm the 3rd ride in in the last 6 weeks or so. That must mean that ALL US Stelvios have Meyers seats by now. :D

not to butt-in on the Stelvio section.. but are there seriously that few Stelvio's in the US?? I would've guess there were a couple hundred..

When Todd purchased his a few months ago there were only 38. Moto Guzzi's marketing at its best

I've had a Bii Mayer saddle on mine for about a year now and really like it. According to Rocky, mine was the second one they did just after doing one at the MGNOC national. So....................who was #1???
