Hi Chaps,

On my second Griso now ,one thing I find strange is that MG never sought fit to provide pillion grab rails, like its some kind of aftermarket luxury?, although they did provide some fixing holes covered
by circular plastic tabs ready to be pushed out.
The only ones I could find were the Stucchi ones which in fact I had on my last Griso but are a bit expensive now although good quality.
So last week in the garage I cut some old steel handle bars up and tacked them together with my MIG and once happy with the design took them and had them TIG welded , (much neater than MIG) for a tenner. Once I double checked the fit I took them off and got them powder coated gloss black for another tenner.
An hour on the lathe and I turned up some blank ends from some s/s scrap and fitted them in the ends of the tubes with well nuts.
I tried to keep the "lines" parallel with the seat angle and I hope they dont look too 'home made', if you all think they do ill take them off and start again! Thats the trouble with the Griso , its so beautiful as standard you have to be careful that every mod you do, doesnt end up making it look worse or stand out like a sore thumb.See not very good pic.

Cheers Spyke

They look fine Spyke, how did you stop them turning on the bolts? not something I need as I have the Corbin solo seat but I would think necessary if you carry a pillion.

On the inside of the grab rail tube that mounts to the frame are some welded on tabs with tapped holes , these bolt to a stainless steel arm which in turn bolts on to the bike frame stopping any turning.

Very nicely done Spyke!
I have kept my Stucchi grab rails even after eliminating the passenger pillions and putting on the Corbin Gunfighter saddle because they are handy for getting the bike up on the service stand or pushing it around.
