Went for a short ride this afternoon and noticed some oil traces down by the sump. It looks like it's coming from the pressure switch, I had it off last year to check the running oil pressure.
At that time I had also sealed the phase sensor and the plastic crankcase ventilation hose connection by the phase sensor, these are ok.

Could the base gasket develop such a leak? In any case I've got it stripped to get access to the switch, and I'll be doing the alternator belt while i'm there.

I tracked a similar oil leak on my Norge down to the crackcase ventilation hose. The oil was blowing back to the pressure switch so I initially thought the pressure switch was the culprit and replaced it without effect. A new gasket (Viton o-ring 34.65 x 1.78 mm) on the ventilation hose mount solved the problem.

Thanks Bobra,

it's been raining all week here, the bike has been under the tarp.... and just got a chance to take a closer look yesterday.
The oil pressure switch is tight but it looks like it's leaking between the crimped hex and the plastic body. The vent hose is dry as the phase sensor. I had sealed them last season. I'm going to grind down the closed end of a 22mm wrench to fit the switch, so i'll avoid taking the alternator off.

I suppose you checked, but this isn't simply coming from the airbox? Not draining the airbox drainage tube for too long causes overflow on the left hand side (but then the oil looks a bit too clear).

This is what worked for me.

Ok, got around to fixing this las week, it was the oil pressure sender leaking.
I replaced it with an NAPA switch OP6065. It's not much cheaper than the Guzzi part, just more available around here...

Thanks for the tool tip Dan, I happened to have such an animal in my shop.
