Hello fellow Guzzisti's I need some help. I need to replace the plate light on my 2009 Norge. My son dropped the bike and it broke. Anyone has any instructions on how to do it?

1. Buy one of these. 2 it appears - you'll have a spare :)
2. Disconnect and unbolt the broken one.
3. Bolt on the mew one and reconnect the wires.
:D QED!

Thanks for the reply Dinsdale! The issue in my case is that the wire either wasn't there to begin with (never paid attention to it), or it fell behind the cowl/fender (whatever is called) where the plate goes. I am not sure how to access the inside of that, there appear to be bolts and screws coming from each direction and I'm lost.

Funnily enough the owners manual says go to a dealer. That is for quitters- I would guess you'd have to remove the taillight to get at the plug. Worth a try. :)

Exactly...it states it is a complex operation and blah blah go dish out your wallet at the dealer's. I really would like to give it a try. I'll take it to the dealer for more important stuff. Hopefully someone here knows what steps are involved.

Oh, I see. If you're tail light works you can simply tap into those wires for the plate light. They both operate together under normal circumstances.

well, I thought I'd give you an update FWIW. That's how you replace a broken plate light.
1. Disassemble the entire rear end of the bike.
2. Replace part
3. Reassemble.
Quick and easy..yeh...:nerd:

PS: I painted the mud guard while I was at it...
