Hello there,

as we all know, Guzzi is building hot bikes, sometimes even too hot ;)
On my Bellagio a connector in the harness (between alternatur and regulator) got much too hot.
Today I received an e-mail from the Moto Guzzi support and they said it is a well known problem and it occurs also on the V7-bikes.
So please check out the link below into the Bellagio-Forum and take a look at the pictures and at my last posting.

Bye,
Thomas

i am disappointed as i had a look for issues on the bellagio and could not find any. when i bought the bike the dealer mentioned that the wires from the starter motor had been increased for 2.5guage wire to stop it blowing the fuse.

i have looked at your pictures and this happened on my ducati 916 bp. i have a blog under the name of vinnychoff. i had exactly the same issue as yours with the alternator yellow wires burning out. first i tried and soldered the wires to the connectors. new connectors with regulator rectifier. no good. then researched again and fitted a mosfat regulator rectifier with new connectors that are water tight. this has worked for the last two years and the battery is still going strong. i think that the issue is two fold. the voltage and the connectors. since the mosfat there has not been a issue.
i would keep a eye on the connectors and check again in a few months. i bought the mosfat off ebay brand new.
hope it works out.
Vincenzo
