Question regarding warmup

I feel like every post of mine revolves around an "issue" thus far...but, I don't view these as complaining about the bike. I look at it as more of a learning curve and education. I love my V7 and expected some hiccups periodically.

So, my question is this:

On cold startup (after sitting overnight, for example) I typically don't have idle issues. I let it run for several minutes prior to riding.

The issues I've experienced are at the end of the workday...I'll park it and come back to it after about 8 hours and it almost always wants to die. After a few minutes of babying the throttle it seems to work itself out.

So, the main variable I can deduce that is distinctly different is that the bike sits in the sun all day after I ride it into the office...although I don't know why this would cause idling issues.

Thanks in advance for the input!

I'm pretty useless here, in terms of technical knowledge...so apologies in advance for that!

Well...I broke the cardinal rule of message boards. I forgot to search. I found this bit of advice from GT-Rx...which may help diagnose the problem. Will check this out next time.

"Per what John says above, and by chance, was the bike in the sun for any duration when this happened? Either way, see if the fuel tank has pressurized by opening the fuel cap and see if you get a whoosh of air if it does it again... or if it's now consistent. If consistent, I would suspect fuel too. The fuel map does not change on it's own, nor suddenly. Keep us posted"

Forums to the rescue again...it seems that the fuel tank has been pressurizing in the heat. Once I release the air, the engine is aces. I'll look into the nuances in the above-referenced thread and also from tonUPRacer's experiences, as well.

Thanks again, as always!

The blue end should be connected to the hose from the tank, and the orange end towards the carbon canister. I've long suspected that some of these have installed backwards at the factory and that this is the cause of some of the troubles with the evaporative emission control system. Can anyone report that one of these was in fact installed backwards?
