johnno - Yeah, Stefan @ Radical Guzzi is a talented guy. As more time passes I am more impressed. I am happy with my choice for a builder. I had conversations with a number of 'builders' both here and abroad. What I did not want to do is write a big check and say, "surprise me." Nothing is decided until we both agree. I only wish I could be there, in Germany, alongside Stefan, to help and learn.don't know what to say ,but wish i had skills like this .That swingarm looks great .
Guzzi needs you for an updated 1100 sport
I've seen some stunning CX500's on the Internet. It will an education and seriously gratifying when it's completed. My one regret on my build is that I am not in Germany doing the hand-on stuff.Love this thread ! That's going to be one hell of a beast !
At the moment I can't afford to indulge myself with a Guzzi project , but am in the (slow) process of building a 'classic' styled Honda CX500 which will be badged "notaguzzi"
Thanks Rudy; I certainly do appreciate the positive feedback.I didn't think I'd like the tank painted but that is gorgeous.
I will be in northern Bavaria, so not that far. As much as I would love to lap the Nordschleife it would have to be on a rental.Looking good! I'm sure that first ride in Germany will be a good one... say, how far will you be from the Nürburgring Nordschleife?
Thanks for the compliment. I like your suggestion. It would facilitate a cleaner look. I'm tossed. The mounts for the taillight, turn indicators & license plate are going to be CNC billet alloy. I will research some Slimline LED taillights. I do like the "vintage" look of a simple round taillight. It's a nice piece; aluminum housing - no plastic. Decisions, decisions. I hope to have photos of the completed bike in a next week or two. There remains a number of small pieces that need to be fabricated; rear mud guard, speedo mount, billet alternator cover, .... .Instead of a round tail light sticking up behind the seat hump ....................................
how about a wide slimline Led tail/brake lite the width of a number plate?
The rest is pure porn i think i just did a little wee
