Having originally joined in 2011, I confess to not being active, so this is more of a re-introduction.

I really haven't ridden in the last couple of years. In fact I thought my riding days were over, not an easy thing to accept, having ridden since I was fifteen and now 73! Thanks to modern surgery it looks like I have a new lease on riding. Just over a year ago I had three cervical discs removed and fused which alleviated problems in my right arm. Test rides seems to prove that I'm good to go again. I've always subscribed to the theory that your ride to stay young, not vice versa.

There were still three bikes in the garage, two Guzzis (Griso, LeMans) and a Triumph Speed Twin. An impulse visit our brand new Guzzi dealer resulted in a likewise brand new V7-850 in the garage and a Speed Twin traded in:

DSCN8913

The next day it snowed about 6 inches! I'm at 9000' in the Colorado Rockies, so it's a hazard. Still liable for snow in June! One way to encourage moisture (a good thing) is to buy a new motorcycle!

No stranger to Guzzis, this is number 13 or 14, I've honestly lost track. And between the wife and I, we're over 100 of all brands. I used to sell bikes at a local Honda dealer, so many came and went. In fact I met my wife when I sold her a Honda CB-125 back in 1979.

Glad to say our local Guzzi/Ducati/Triumph/BMW dealer, Colorado Springs Powersports, seem like very nice folks. Happy to once again have a local dealer.

I'm excited, it's like a new lease on life. Sure would like a new V100 Mandelo, but that's a pretty big bite right now.

OctoGuzzi: Congrats on the 850… If you like the Mandello, do what I did, trade a couple in on a V100😂😉. I’m now down to two Italians … the V100S and a Ducati. I ride with some guys that are 80 and up - and, they don’t mess around. So, by all means, enjoy those beautiful bikes! Blessed.

Welcome back. Time is at supersonic speeds it seems. Love to get all of your bikes on our Registries in each section. I linked the V7 below for you.
Add me to the back surgery recovery list. I blame twin shock bikes, not just age, so careful now! Ha.
Yes the Rockies can be tortorous year round for high elevation riding. So grab it while you can! My old friend Alan (@tryengel) lives in Boulder, but he only has modern non-Guzzi (booo) machines in his garage these days. Good guy to know regardless. He had a custom RGuzzi built by my competitor before I got into the business (BUILDS link top of page or in the Custom section here on the Forum), his is also there as well.
Wait on the V100 and let all the minor bugs get sorted. They may even release a model you like better. For me, I will be grabbing the first totaled V100 for a GTM V7-esque build.
Anyway, welcome back. Enjoy the site, the bikes, and hope to see you here often. Cheers.
