Gents

After coming back from Scotland the other week I was a little disturbed to see that it looks suspiciously like the rear carrier bars (I have a 45 litre Givi Topbox) had bent by a couple of degrees.

Now I must admit that I had never looked at it too closely so the 'bend' might be OEM as there seems to be some kind of marks where the bend is, which look like clamp marks or something.

Anyway, if anyone could see fit to trot down to their garage and have a look I would be most grateful.

cheers

Hi Gang

Just took a look mine, it also has a slight bend it appears oem :)

Sorry about the poor picture but you can just see it close to the fixing bolt , smooth on top. small press mark underneath.

ps. 1/2'' square bar would take some bending ;)

Seriously though it's always beem there, about 5-7 degrees. I know because when mine was new I made a new rack. The bent metal is solid 20mm steel bar so unless you,ve had a 250kg tool box on the rack to cover Guzzi reliability, then your rack will be ok.

Notice I carry the tool box

The bend is normal. But mine were not bent alike from the factory, giving the tail rack a "list to starboard." I took it off and did a bit of shadetree blacksmithing to put it right. Then replaced it with the GIVI SR210 that I took off the Breva 1100 (minor modification required, but IMHO the Givi rack looks a lot better)
