The right side pipe has a lot of soot showing, much more that the left. What do you think is the first thing to look for?
I have 13 carbs to deal with on various bikes so I know what to do with them. But with the ecu.....I am not sure. 2004 Stone.

Search professional fuel injection cleaning services, i.e. rcfuelinjection.com -- fuel added cleaners won't work on old (mostly clogged) injectors. Your bike is almost 20 years old. Don't ignore the simple maintenance facts.

Thanks.....I had the injectors cleaned by the BMW dealer,

I highly doubt it. Unfortunately, they just took your money more than likely.

We are talking about a professional fuel injector service company like rcfuelinjection.com which is a highly specialized company. If you didn't receive a detailed written analysis of your injector both before and after, then you didn't get real injector cleaning and rebuilding.

Go to the website, and you will see what we are talking about.

It's not expensive and very much worth it.

04 Stone is a Hydro, if update on cam wasn't done and it's going all wrong it could be that side shot. Just an idea.
It could even be a gummed up air bleed screw on TB not letting in air.

I'm sure the above injectors are your issue. But, did you then do a full throttle body sync from scratch, then check the operation of the TPS, then set it correctly? Odds are, you need a new TPS. I'm on #3 at 95,000 miles.
All the info can be found here by searching.

Over the last 30+ years I delighted in removing many TPS,EFI,ECU,MAPS,FPS,MFS,THROTTLE BODIES,INJECTORS, from various vehicles, including Harley,BMW,LEXUS,DODGE andfrep,#cing the bags of sensors, computers, looms,

The Slow Death...of a Guzzi.
Well crapola. I pulled the R plug and it had quite a bit of oil and crud on it. The left one had a little oil also but looked good. . I installed new plugs and a trip around the neighborhood revealed oil on R plug, and quite a bit of carbon, and a a small amount on the L plug. So I have other things to work on , vehicles, mowers, Hondas 750s ... so I suppose the Guzzi will go on the the back burner for now and I will resume on the FXR. This is the Stone I paid $1100 for and the guy threw in a tank, extra handlebars, 3 seats, front fender 3 wheels and a couple of used tires and one new one, and assorted farkles. He did a lot of upgrades, fairing , passenger bars, suspension, dyna, etc , pegs and whatever so

...someday. . someday..

Okay...[Edit]: I will get around sooner than later.

A call to Guzzi says it is not on the recall. It is just a few vin numbers after the recall. I will pull the cover and check.
