I’m just back from a 1400 miles (2200km) road trip to south of Norway.
It started with 400 miles of mostly pouring rain 🌧️ 🌧️🌧️☔☔☔
Especially the boots didn’t cope with it and transformed into aquariums lol 😂
I took measures and coped the rest of trip though.

The inland mountain parts were trollish 🧌 and magnificent, very beautiful.
And one day we drove high up on a small mountain road leading eventually to a small village (Lysebotn) in a deep fiord.
However this day we were finally blessed from heavy rains and instead got a mostly clear and decently sunny day with a marvelous and magical 100 miles ride!
The mountain walls in the fiord are about 600-800 meter high (about 2000 feet I believe).
Very impressive, and the serpentine road with a final deep tunnel was splendid.

Beautiful scenery. Norway is a country I'd love to visit.
My father was supposed to ski jump at the Holmenkollen after he competed in the 1936 Olympics but sprained his ankle before the competition. Ever since he told me the story, I've wanted to visit there.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get more than a few pictures in the inland’s as it was raining more or less and we didn’t wanted more wet hands or gloves.
But in Rjukan we saw the historical factory of “heavy water” (don’t know the correct English term) to probably a nazi atomic bomb.
To this factory the allied sent a group of heroes to destroy, with a long escape over the cold harsh Norwegian highlands without any food or water.
They thankfully succeeded.
But the factory still stands on the hill side.
Apart from that this area is amazing.
In this area there are several ski centers and nice villages, which are as great during summer.
