Just got it firing!
I'm rebuilding an Eldo motor. I always use a stretch gage on rod bolts, but there's not enough room in the Guzzi case for the gage so they'll have to be torqued. The manual says rod bolt torque is 33 - 35 ft/lbs, but doesn't say whether the bolts are dry, lubed with oil, or lubed with moly. On car motors, I've compared bolt stretch to torque with dry/oil/moly. There's a big difference in bolt stretch between 35 ft/lbs dry and 35 ft/lbs with lubricant. So is the Guzzi manual's 33 - 35 ft/lbs dry, with oil, or with moly? Should car guys build motorcycle engines? Thanks for the help. Dennis
