Rossi takes Ferrari round Montmeló

Wednesday, 20 January 2010
Watch an exclusive motogp.com video of the MotoGP World Champion preparing for his test in a Ferrari F2008 at the Montmeló circuit in Barcelona on Wednesday.

Rossi kicks-off Ferrari F1 Test at Catalunya

It was an interesting first morning behind the wheel of the Ferrari F2008 Formula 1 machine on Wednesday in Barcelona for Valentino Rossi, as the Italian took to the track in the car just after 10am in his test at Circuit de Catalunya.

After a warm-up lap Rossi encountered a technical problem and had to return to the garage at 10.28am, where the Ferrari mechanics started work on the issue. Almost an hour later, the 30 year-old returned to the track to continue what is his sixth time at the controls of a Ferrari.

By 12.45pm, in weather conditions which were not ideal but without rain, Rossi had clocked a best lap of 1’47.4. A vast improvement to 1’42.1 was made by the time he finished for a break at 1.12pm, as the first signs of sunshine helped with track conditions.

More footage of Rossi in Catalunya will be available soon on motogp.com, but click image for the video preview:
