Running the GT-Rx pipe on an 8V engine with a 68 map

...WITHOUT the ECU reflash OR the PCV?

I am curious to see if anyone has this configuration and what sort of results could be expected. I am contemplating getting a Guzzitech pipe for the looks and sound but am concerned with performance without a fuel modifier, which I am not intending to invest in the most immediate future.

The Griso 8V runs killer right now with a 68 map and the stock exhaust but I hate the looks of the stock pipe and it is absolutely too quiet to my taste. It seems to be running a bit rich so perhaps a pipe that was less restrictive but not full open would be a bit louder and not mess up the fueling?

If there's anyone who runs a 68 map with a non-stock exhaust and NO power commander, please be so kind as to share your impressions.

Thank you.

I'd love to sell you a pipe, but the 8V is hyper-sensitive to fueling. My left side with small db-killer would be similar and should run OK, but hopefully someone will chime in to confirm; Else I offer Zard as well HERE - which has proven to work well with the 68 map.

The stock map will run crazy lean if you pipe it and open up the airbox so be careful. and it runs too lean even with the Stock pipe and stock airbox as I found out. When using the autotune wideband sensor we captured Air to Fuel ratios as high as 16.8-17.1 after putting on the excellent Guzzitech right exit pipe (but basically any pipe would have done that expect for the Factory Termi with the Cat in the pipe). The PCV and the ECU flashing resolved that so that 13.2 ratio is now maintained, plus as an added bonus the heads don't radiate as much heat which I really noticed on the stock bike with stock exhaust because it runs so lean stock under 5k and rich over. The biggest benefit of fixing the fueling is getting rid of the jerkyness at low rpm and snatchiness of the throttle

Factory Termignoni without the dB insert (it does have a cat, so perhaps that provides the little bit of needed back-pressure). In addition to the 68 map, have a BMC filter in the desnorkeled airbox. Only issue (if you want to call it that) is popping on hard overrun. Love the setup, the giddyup and sound is absolute cosmic harmony!
