Hi Guys,

I was about to do a service and I thought I would check what would be the best fluids to get?

I can get Mobil 1 for the engine- (is it any good for guzzi's?)

Also I was going to bleed the brakes and what fluid do I need?

I was also going to do the clutch cylinder fluid any recommendations?

Also the bike has only done 11k and a 2010 stelvio would you guys recommend doing the valve clearances and also getting new rocker cover seals?

I was also going to do the gear box and final drive (carc) or am I getting too far ahead of myself?

It has not been off road and only really cruising kms.

Also I come from Australia so shipping might be an option or should I buy it locally??

Also for the filter any further recommendations?

Cheers Guys

I do my services on nice round numbers (cars and bike) - 5000 miles - easy to remember.

On the Stelvio, I adjust valves / sync TBs, and reset the TPS. Also change engine oil and filter, change gear box oil, and change CARC oil, all at 5k miles. Use the grades recommended in the owner's manual, brand does not matter.

For brake and clutch fluid, I change / flush every two years, again any name brand synthetic is OK.

Valve cover gaskets are rubber and reusable.

Browse this sub-forum, you'll pick up lots more information about maintenance.

Mobil 1 to my knowledge doesn't come in a 60 weight, so try the Australian Penrite (I believe). The bike calls for 10-60 oil. Don't just bleed the brakes and clutch, after 5 years you should to do a complete change. Suck out the fluid in the reservoirs and add fresh brake fluid. Pump (bleed) it though until you get clear fluid out of the bleeder. There are testers available that will indicate % water. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200581091_200581091?cm_mmc=Bing-pla or http://www.amazon.com/Brake-Fluid-T...1442149169&sr=8-3&keywords=break+fluid+tester At 2% I change fluids. Changing the gearbox and CARC is not out of order. Considering it is 5 rears old I'd recommend it. Any good 90 weight will do, here you can use the Mobil 1 75W 90.
