Hi there - I was wondering if anyone knows how much play should there be between the angle when 'deploying' the side stand and the angle when it takes the weight of the bike.
In fact should there be any?

I just checked my G12. :geek:
When I let the sidestand just touch the ground, I can lift it about nearly 1 cm (0.4").
I think that's the play you ment?
Without play, you can't turn your sidestand easy enough. :huh:

thanks for replying.

What I noticed with my griso is that between the time the side stand plate touches the ground and takes the weight of the bike the whole arm moves about an inch outwards as if there is a warn bolt/bracket.. And as this one bolt of mild steel and a bracket stops the bike having a lie down I was a bit concerned.

So in the end I went into my local Guzzi dealer and checked out the side stand on a new griso and that too has a bit of movement. Anyway I'll have a good look come those dark days of winter and the bike is in the garage.
