Ok got a longish history on this that may or may not be related.

1. Bike has been in Bribsane Australia while I have been in Dubai for 21 months.
2. I Visited Brisbane last in December and decided to ship th ebike to Dubai. Rode it to Brisbane dealer, had it crated. Id just clocked over 70000km, so on arrival in Duba had bike shipped direct to dealer for service and to repair LR indicator prior to rego inspection.
3. Bike had previous problem due to crushed wire to LR indicator. Indicator was not working. Likely caused by the dealer that did clutch replement job at 50,000km,Wire was crushed under pillion grab bars, and wore thru.
4. Bike has a broken CLutch microswitch. Will only start in Neutral. (The clutch lever had broken where it depresses th eswitch, and was not touching/activating microswitch. When investigating this I accidentally broke the switch). This caused no problem other than not being abel to start in gears with clutch pulled.
5. On trip to Brisbane in December, bike had been parked albeit with battery disconnected, battery was shot and would not hold charge. Replaced battery and rode about 800km prior to shipping. During mucking about with battery & getting bike going, bike started showing redTriangle and logged ECU errors 14&16 (air and oil temp).

On arrival in Dubai, local dealer found indicator was faulty from Dashboard. Likely due to original short (which is probably over 3y now since). As Dashboard replacement would be expensive I had him wire LR indicator to LF indicator for now.

Service completed, and wiring repaired, Dealer calls me to tell me that bike engine stops when put in gear. The sidestand light remains illuminated whether sidestand is up or down. Bypass sidestand switch, and light remains on. Dealer swaps ECU with one from a Griso to test, and no problems (ECU err 14&16 go too). Sidestand switch and light work as expected.

Has anyone encountered an issue like this? I think the history of the indicator and clutch microSwitch are unrelated, but during the repair job to the indicator wiring I suppose the dealer may have shorted something which has upset the ECU?
The ECU 14/16 errors are constant - not cleared by DELETE ERRORS from the dash diagnostics, but also not evident when Griso ECU attached..

If im looking at a replacement ECU, which seems likely in the absence of any wisdom from the brains-trust here, then can I source one from other bikes (Im aware Ducati use the Marelli 5AM, and likely I may pick up one here in Dubai more readily than from a Guzzi, is it just a matter o f loading the Stelvio map?)

tia...

If you have a pipe on it, I'd get one from the store here, or have Todd load stock.
You have to get an ecu loaded from other mfg, makes it simple.

Ill certinaly get one here from Todd if its the fastest option. Im in Dubai.. Not sure what youmeant "You have to get an ecu loaded from other mfg" -so is it just the map that needs loadin if I can locally source a 5AM? Ive got the GizziDiag software and gear to do that is thats all that is required.
