Well, I sold the Stelvio and the buyer is picking it up today. Don't get me wrong, it's not because of any problem with the bike. The only real issue I ever had was with the fueling, and Todd's "re-flash" cured that. I just decided the "adventure touring" thing is not for me; I've always ridden sport tourers, and I want to go back to that type of bike. I learned so much from everyone on this list, I really wanted to get another Guzzi so I could keep applying that knowledge. A huge selling point for me is the ease with which you can do your own maintenance on these bikes. I had also thought about getting a BMW twin sport tourer, but then I read about the unreliable shaft drives on those bikes. I'd rather have a bike with an issue I can address than one I'll have to always worry about no matter what I do (especially if the bike with the shaft drive issue costs twice as much). So my plan was to get a Norge. There is a dealer in NH that has a leftover Norge for around $10k, and there is a slightly used one in Worcester, MA for around $9k. But then I found a leftover Concours ABS for $9,700, and now it's in the garage. So I'm off Guzzi for a while. But before I go I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me work through the issues with the Stelvio. You guys are a credit to the marque. Were it not for this forum I would not buy another Guzzi, and that would be a shame because they are great bikes. Because there are forums like this where you can get the support you don't get from many of the dealers in the US, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Guzzi. So I'm sure I'll be back!

Don't be afraid to pick up a V7 Classic to tool around town with. You can never have enoug bikes!

Ben,

Sorry to see you go, but on the bright side of things I should see you at the Concours Nationals (COG Nationals) next August 2011 in VT. But I will leave my Concours home and bring my Stelvio :D :D

The wife and I just finished hosting the NE Fall Rally for COG in Natural Bridge, VA. Had a great turn out and the weather was beautiful.

Best of luck with your new steed, see you down the road.

Kurt
