Having broken one of internal spark wire caps and replaced temporarily the whole wire with the one freshly plucked from the nearby standing car, there is a number of questions araised. Remembering the bold written part of Guzziology, about spark wires and the importance of impendance and copper conductor I'm unsure if to ride the bike or not with the replacement "silicone" wire, with apparantly graphite conductor.
the original wire states 5 KOhm
the static measured impendance of the replacement one is ~7,5 KOhm
- how critical/important for the coil is the proper wire? would I burn coil staying with the wrong wire?
- the wire cap in the original wire is sitting so tight on the spark plug head, that it is complicated to unplug it without damage. any hints how to do it in a more clever way than just pulling? unscrew together with the spark head?
- I've ordered wire cap PN 05717430. don't ask me why not a full wire, which would be 05718331. But is there anything special to think of while fitting the cap to the old wire?
and yes, we are lucky to not have to drop the engine for accessing this internal plug. only dismount the other half of the bike
Thanks!
Alex
