It would be worth your while to research who 'Griso' actually is/was and to reflect on how and where the Griso fits in the Guzzi lineage. I've done it and it's interesting not only for who he was but that someone at Guzzi picked up on the character. I look forward to your views!

Have just started reading Manzoni's "The Betrothed", so will give my thoughts when Griso makes an appearance.

Don't hold your breath though, it's not light tome. My kindle's a damn sight heavier since I downloaded it.

The Betrothed is essentially the Italian national novel, like Don Quixote for Spain. Every Italian knows it, I understand. It is credited with advancing the unification of the Italian language in its written form.

As for the choice of Griso as the name of the bike, it does raise questions of reliability! The book is great and quite engaging -- hard to put down once you start.

That's Griso on a Griso in this announcement from another post:

That's great, I wish there was a video of when the name was decided or a story from the factory. My suspicion is that the name is purely an aesthetic pick. Base on the poster above Griso not only looks like Griso, it shouts GRISO!
That thing I called a mosquito killer is actually a scatter gun!

Griso day should be on the Ides of March (15th) the day Julius Caesar was stabbed to death in the senate or on day that hearkens back to the novel. Griso owners would display something on their bikes on that day or wear a black trench coat.

This explains why only the black Griso look right to me.

Phaedrus, you there yet? How about posting some Griso quotes when you do.
