New to Moto Guzzi and very much enjoying.

1. Speedo/Odometer is broken (cable is fine, heard this is a common problem?). Can internals of Speedo be repaired? Palo Alto, CA shop? I live in Calif.

2. Does anyone have a RPM vs. Speed (in mph or kph) for a 2003 California? Typically you see these for all 5 gears going through the RPM range---but I can not find anywhere (good to have while Speedo is being repaired)

Thanks,
F

Yes the speedo is a common problem. Palo Alto can repair it, but the repair is more than a new unit. If you don't mind a white face, get one for a 1998. On the 98s the tach failed, but the speedo didn't.

As for speed/rpm chart, I don't know of one, but someone on the board might.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but the speedo on my 98 Centauro failed. Fortunately, I was able to get it apart and replace the bad gizmo from a 2000 speedo that had been crashed but the guts were good.

Lets us just say that speedometer failures on the 98 EVs were much less common. I couldn't get one to work for more than 20,000 miles on my 2003. I had to put three of them on it.
