How is the speedo sensor worked ,is it by magnet sensor ? if not how ?

The speed sensor is a hall effect sensor located by the rear brake caliper. So yes, it is by magnetic sensor. There are issues with water on many bikes as the sensor does not seem to be water tight. Mine will work when I ride through rain typically but if it sits still and gets wet the speedo sometimes stops working until it drys out. I seal it with a dab of goo and it has been better since, but the sealing job in the link posted is undoubtedly a better way.
 
Thanks to you both,ive done 23000 miles in all weathers and had no problems untill last week when i was doing 141 mph at a stand still then the last 3 days its sat on zero miles with the warning lights on .Today its working perfect again so moisture is number one suspect.One good thing about this is my warning lights work perfect because soon as speedo started working my warning lights went out.cheers :)
