Link for article for Andrew Trevitt's accident on Angeles Crest Hwy; HERE.

I was just commenting the other day that it's been a long time since a moto journo had any such bad luck.

That's fu#&ed up. A lot of us have "tested tires" there. I hope recovery becomes more positive for him. Always hard to hear about things like this.

Based on the report accident not his fault-unless he was going too fast & that contributed to collision. Still, if "testing tires", shouldn't/couldn't that have been done on a track?

Worded that way, absolutely, surely won't help is case if that story makes it into any DA's hands.

Why did he even mention the word "testing"? There is no way the illegal U-turner or his insurance company would have known unless he volunteered the information.

Now, it's probably "his fault". Sometimes it's better just to be quiet, even if you are a jorno.

Let's hope it can be argued that he was doing his job (making this a "professional accident" for an insurance other than his personal one would pay here in the Old World). Let's face it - tyres ought to be tested on a surface representative of the ones they'll be used on, and testing doesn't automatically mean engaging in illegal behaviour ;)

(although ... I've seen some youtube footage recently about US speed limits -on the Dragon- that makes you wonder about what could be asked of a tyre if you observe those limits :p )
