My '07 Norge, now with over 25,000 miles on the clock, just got an Italian Stallion for a stable mate. I picked up a silver 2000 V-11 Sport with 9000 miles. Any info on the quirks of the sporti would be appreciated.

If they had a green-colored emoticon on here, that's what I'd insert 'cause I'm green with envy.:)

I love the look of the sports - clean lines, nothing tacked on, just pure Guzzi. I just can't see my old body being comfortable on one for very long:(

This bike has been converted to tube handlebars, so other than the pegs being a bit higher, the seating position is very similar to a Norge/Breva.

Did I mention that it is a real 'hoot' in the Blue Ridge Mountains?

My wife also has a silver 2000 V11 Sport that we converted to bars. Hers has about 37,000 miles and has been a blast. Other then the stock Siemens relays the bike has been very reliable for an Italian. There are other issues to watch out for. There was a trans recall on them, a number of them have had one of the ends of the shock (the lower end I believe) crack or break, and they tend to have soft valves stock which wear funny in the guides resulting in bad valves sealing. Some have had the shift return spring break but that was later bikes I believe. On a lighter note, some prefer the lighter steering a size narrower then stock rear tire gives the bike. We haven't tried it yet but intend to at some point. A 170 barely fits on that little 4.5" rim, a 160 seems like it would fit the rim better.
I like my Griso but her V11 is special.

Thanks for the heads up on quirks. As near as I can tell the gearbox mod has been accomplished. As far as quicker steering with a smaller tire I'm going to let that go. This thing turns in so fast it scares me, the last thing I need to do is make it faster.
