My pals '06 G11 was due an MOT the other Saturday. Having not run it for a while he ran it up on the Friday before - all OK. Stopped it on the kill switch. Then found it wouldn't restart, just a solenoid like clicking. He figured maybe the battery was down so left it on charge overnight. The following morning the problem persisted. He checked the battery connections but these were good and tight. Then looked at the fuses - one blown. Swapped this with the spare and starting was resumed.
Down at the test centre (also a Guzzi dealership) he asked for a replacement fuse. Sold out. They report a spate of these kind of failures, due to the Bosch starter being a little flakey.
Has anyone else experience of this? Is it a weak point? Why would a 'dodgy' starter take out the fuse and then be alright again?
