Hi guys
Rode my griso to the pub last weekend had a few beers when ready to leave the bike would turn over but not start pulled all the fuses and put them back and the bike started . Has anyone else had this problem or know what it might be.

Happened again today but this time i gave it a bit of throttle and it started any ideas?

Grisos suffer -- as do all CARC's, I think, and my Norge certainly did :swear: -- from Startus Interruptus.

Actually, my own Griso has never had the malady, but I intend to prevent it this winter with the well-known easy fix.

Search this site for lotsa mentions of disorder.

The short (NPI! :giggle:) version is that for reasons known only to some Mandellisti (likely drunk on grappa ), Guzzi sends its starting jolt of juice all over the machine before, now near depleted, it gets to the starter. The ECU often thinks that there isn't enough to start it, and so, well, doesn't. Maddening. BTDT.

I thought so too Bill, until it was pointed out to me that the Griso's power to the starter relay does not go through the ignition switch, unlike the Breva 1100, Sport 1200 & Norge.

Could explain why your Griso has never suffered.

To think I thought I was just lucky.

It's so sad. Whenever I think I can actually offer a tidbit of tech knowledge ... I am wrong. Sigh. :giggle:

Thanks.

Bill

My Griso has suffered from Startus Interuptus. But I altered the wiring as many do and it seems to work better. But the OP was describing a different starting issue. With SI, it doesn't turn over. It might click, but that is it. He (the OP) said it was turning the engine over but not firing. That is something else.

Opening the throttle while attempting to start should increase the fuel delivery. If this enables starting then the initial fuel delivery could be inadequate for starting. My recommendation is to run some injector cleaner through the system. If it persists, perhaps remove the injectors and have them cleaned.
