Bought a 1998 EV 11 and the steering head unit is loose can grab both front forks and feel it has play in the steering head....what's the best way to adjust that, and is there a grease nipple for the bearing/s??
Thanks in advance!!

No grease nipple, you will need to disassemble and pack the bearings (tapered roller) by hand. Since you will have it apart, then you can adjust the pre-load on the bearings during assembly. Not to difficult a task. Be sure to inspect the races for damage. Iif they are damaged they are a standard bearing you can get from a bearing house.

Bearings are not expensive - even Fag or SKF (the only 2 brands worth using imo). Any time I've gone that far into either the steering head or the swinging arm I've simply replaced the bearings. If you've disassembled enough to get them out just do it!! Adjust them correctly and, of course, ensure that they're both fully packed with grease. From there on I consider them non-service items. Replace them when they die. Wheel bearings are easier to get at, and the wheels come of regularly for new tyres, so they get serviced on my bikes. Any clay or lithium based high pressure, high temp bearing grease will do.

I did consider adding a grease nipple at one time, but for the infrequency of needing to replace them I deemed the exercise "not worth the effort".
