We have some crap roads up our way with some nice cracks and holes. My buddie recently went down on his thruxton from serious tank slap. Does anyone make a kit or know of any place to piece one together for a v7r? The fronts are soo light on these bikes I'd rather be safe then sorry thanks guys!

Kyle, what do you weigh in street clothes? Honestly, best to put the money into suspension as you can resolve 75% of chassis issues with there, as the V7 is really poorly set up for most riders (see this thread; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/v7c-s-suspension-thread.12618/ ). But, if you really want a damper, I can develop a kit for it using a Matris damper. It won't be cheap however. Feel free to contact me direct email; Todd at GuzziTech.com

I'm about 185 in street clothes. I mean if it's cheaper to do a different spring and fork oil weight type of thing I'll do it. My buddies dampner kit cost about 200 bucks if it means anything for you

The ready to ride weight range of a V7 is ~155-170 lbs, so add ~15 lbs for gear, and you're at 200 lbs. The stock suspension on all of the V7's is poor at best, even the Racer.
Depending on what you're hoping for, fork springs are $115 on my online Store (tabbed above), but the shocks are more difficult to do correctly without spending a handful of cash. Have a look at my link above on the Suspension thread.
No one offers a steering damper, like I mentioned, and for $200 I don't think I could even come close to selling you just the damper, yet alone a kit.

My 2012 Racer in stock form used to scare me on some iffy sections of the freeways around here. I put money in the forks and solved that problem. You need to make them responsive to the crap you're riding on. I got proper springs and Racetech emulators, but Todd has really increased the options for the V7. There was very little available a few years ago and now his store has lots of good-looking stuff in it. Money put in your suspension is never wasted. I think a steering damper is a bandaid. You need to address the root of the problem.

I will have to post a video to this thread of my recently sorted V7 Classic going down the road by my house. It is washboarded so bad, I used to max out at 30 mph with the stock suspension. Any faster than that, and the bumps would bounce the rear tire to the side. Or bounce the front wheel towards the ditch....
With the Mupo fork kit and Racetech shocks in the back, I hit that road coming off of the pavement at 50 mph now, and accelerate to 70. No problem.
The difference is remarkable. I agree with PokeyJoe, get the suspension sorted, and you will be good to go....

Alright guys thanks looks like I'm going to get some new springs and such before thinking of anything else. Appreciate the help, money doesn't matter when your safety is involved.

A steering damper is only there to help the tank slappers when your suspension is so shite it can't do its job properly.
Sort the suspension and you don't need the bandaid damper.

Here's my Melon Patch.

I did some searching and found them hidden layers deep. Go to the strore, then suspension. Don't sort by model but click on the fork spring kits link on the right submenu. The go through those and the last item is fork springs for $114.95. Click on that then choose the model. A pain to find. What the heck, spend the $400 on the full kit. It's easier to find! :fubar:

Not so tough, simply enter "fork springs" in the search line at the top of the store. Bottom right.

The full fork kits work amazingly well, it's the reason I use and sell them... Or you can take one small step at a time and get there eventually any way.

Silly me, I guess I thought I could just select Suspension, select my model, and see them there in the (much shorter) list of choices.

Just to add fuel to the fire, didn't one version of the V65 come with a steering damper from the factory.
Yes, but so did the California 1100's and likely a few other models. All fixed when the suspension and minor ride height issues are resolved.
