I've seen posts on the bodywork removal on NTX. But I can't find any resources on the small tank Stelvio except for the Factory Manual which is mostly Italian. I am doing my own rollerisation kit upgrade and it looks like I need to remove the tank which is under the bodywork in this case. The manual appears to say removal of the instrument panel is necessary. Has anyone here done a tank removal on the small tank bike and perhaps can outline some basic steps ?

Thanks
Tony

It's a lovely bunch of (beep). You don't have to take off dash, just the screws that hold it. That's to get the sides out & floppy. Center part and gas cap area is fussy to untuck the rubber boot w/o scratching paint. Paint is usually messed up from gas fumes. Takes about an hr both ways. You have to undo the screws under headlight housing and unplug turn signals. Get the parts pics and workshop man, the 1st time is the worst. You will need the sides real floppy to pull the tank out. The front piece by steering head comes out 1st. Find a tight fitting 2.5mm and 3mm allen, the little button heads like to strip out. Good Luck

If you take the wrap-around shroud off the back of tank & the gas cap off you will see lots of screws holding it all together.

Thanks Steve, very helpful advice. BTW while I have the tank off I see that Stelvio owners are upgrading the fuel pump connections for the NTX, do you know if this applies to the 2011 non NTX bike ?
