We went to Haywards in Cambridge yesterday and took out a NTX. I wanted a 2009 engine to try and their standard Stelvio was a modded 2008. I have been doing a lot of reading about Guzzi's (never having had one)especially the Stelvio and have found this forum the most useful.
Cut a long story short we ordered a red one :woohoo: with a K&N filter, hugger, top box, alarm, engine bars and tank bag. I'll get some Givi 41 litre panniers locally and will order the Mistral pipe from Italy. Delivery date from Guzzi end of Sept.
The dealer told me that there is no gear indicator on the display, is this correct and in that case is the easy answer to fit a Acumen gear position indicator?

Has anyone done this and does anyone have the wiring diagram?
(I know its not esential but I've got used to riding with them over the years.)

Welcome Ray, Congrats on making a decision in the affirmative - the dirt is where it's at. The dealer is spot on the mark, no gear indicator except for a bad engine vibration if your in too high gear and a rush of adrenalin if in too low gear...

I am sure that one of those gadgets can be fitted, but it maybe be cheaper and save some shed time time to kick the habit ;)

Post up some pics of you taking delivery - always a good story to tell.

The red ones are faster you know.

Like Mike suggests, it may be time to kick the habit anyway. There is a rev limit indicator that YOU can set to trigger at different RPM. That will remind you to shift where you want.

My only worry here was that because I couldn't hear what the engine was doing (Blueflames on my sv1000) I got a couple of the gear changes badly wrong. Once the Mistral is on I should be able to hear what's going on so maybe I'll hang onto my
