Adventure Bike Rider's latest issue has a 4 bike test starring a KTM Adventure 1190, Triumph Explorer, Honda Crosstourer DCT and a 2010 Stelvio. Whilst the Stelvio doesn't come out as their favourite (Honda does, surprisingly), it does seem to get some affection from the tester. The review itself is quite flattering, saying that the Stelvio was charismatic and attracted more attention than the other bikes. From the verdict:
"A bike that would be comfortable over long distances, as well as offering a more relaxing ride, is the Moto Guzzi Stelvio. This is a bike that has lingered in the shadows and never quite emerged into the mass market of adventure bikes. And that's a shame, as we found this second hand example to be comfortable, characterful and certainly a bike that gets under the skin. The later models are even better, with bigger fuel tanks, revised styling and plenty of standard equipment. The Stelvio will never be the obvious choice (and some would say quite rightly) as a large capacity adventure bike, but for those wanting something different that's always going to be a good thing".

Not an awful lot of love for the Triumph and the KTM doesn't get fawned over. Which is nice.

Cheers
Rob

Yep, seen it, makes a change from BMWs being all over it.

I may submit a write up to them on my recent trip to Europe.

Made me smile that they were after an old Capo and ended up with a Stelvio - if they'd popped round here they could have tried them both :)
