On starting the bike yesterday it turned over but did not start, the green light was on and all looked ok - On re trying the neutral light was not on - the bike was not in gear and would not turn over - after a few moments of waiting the green light did re activate and the bike started ok. is there a common fault that would course this to occure - it neutral position switch for example or should I be looking elsewhere - I did 1800 miles on the continent this summer without a hitch. bike 2008 - 8500 miles. Hope you can assist

i had a similair problem with my bellagio. the issue was resolved when i took off the battery leads one by one and cleaned the connections with a screwdriver blade. that was enough to make the bike misbehave with the dash lights on and off and error display.
it could be a earth or positive lead. check the thick wires from your battery to positive leads and negative leads. make sure you look careful and see if the bends that all the wire strands are complete and have no breaks.
this is a start

I agree with Vinny. My Stelvio did this a couple of times when I first got it. Take the battery cables off and clean them VERY good. I used some dielectric grease on them so the corrosion would not come back. 10K miles later the problem has not reoccurred. They seem to be VERY sensitive to the proper battery voltage.
