Gday I am having trouble balancing my G11 T/B's,and I need to find out more about this new (to me ) fangled Gizmo. I was under the impression that the steppers main purpose in life is to be an Idle Air Control and let air into the T/B's when the throttle is trailed. I fitted an inline manual valve tween air box and stepper "T" and when shut at idle the bike sounded flat and when being ridden pretty much the same result, hotter engine and possibly leaner,Ive only tried this once whilst under way and would need to check agin to verify leanness. However ,after I arrived at work last night I shut the valve, pulled the line going to the "T" off and could feel and hear it sucking from idle to 7000 rpm. With my VDST on gauges mode and engine cold it shows a reading of 200 steps and as the engine heats drops down to 100 steps. If this is an idle air control whats it doin being open at high revs? Why doesnt it drop down to 0 steps whith more revs and temp? Would this indicate a suspect Lambda? VDST shows Lambda volts changing (post night shift, I cant remember which way)Could this bastard thing be upsetting my attempt to balance T/B's? Scuse my ramblin ,I look forward to learnin more, thanx. :S

The Lambda has nothing to do with the stepper or balance. As long as the lambda voltages are changing, it is good.

As for the stepper, I've never isolated mine and everything is working just fine. Others seem to have problems with it, but it should not impact TB sync if working in the air circuit or not as it allows air equally to both TBs. Have you read the synce procedure here? https://www.guzzitech.com/downloads/ca ... -1100.html in the General service manual. It is the same procedure for all 5AM ECU bikes.
