Thought you might like some pics of Todd's sump spacer installed without a lot of other stuff in the way.

I think it looks serious and purposeful. Grrrr.

Christmas is coming, give your V7 the benefit of proper oil capacity.

Also: The factory V7 grab rails WILL NOT fit with the factory remote reservoir shocks on the Racer.

There is the tiniest bit of interference that twists the shock away from the rail. Almost left it. Then decided I would postpone the rails until I can buy some shocks from Todd. Winning.

Thanks to Todd and all the posters here. A wealth of information and camaraderie.

It would be nice if one could be made for the V7 III. not that it needs it, but a little extra oil wouldn't hurt anyone.

Any idea of what the sump clearance to the road is when loaded ? Peter

The spacer is ~30mm thick. I haven't ridden with it on yet, but I don't expect to have to scrape any extra cats off the bottom of the bike.

I find this concern curious. Anything the pan would hit your front wheel would hit about a nanosecond earlier. Have never heard it to be an issue. I happen to think it looks aggressive and stands out as an accessory. It might not be sexy to everyone, but I like knowing there's about 60% greater engine oil available.

I do not motocross with this m/c :think:

Happy Trails!

Thanks Ty, zero issues to date, and always a comment about curbs. Like you, I don't know many people that jumps curbs, though I'm sure it happens. I've had or seen none where it caused any issues, and the trade off for what if offers exceeds the rare risk of it hitting anything. I have the last of the run I'll ever do on sale.

The concern was not to do with the fact that your front wheel turns , unlike the sump :) , but here ( in B.C)
we have an abundance of "traffic quieting" humps in our streets , many are 18" to 24" wide plenty of space between the wheel on one end and the sump on the other, they're typically 4" to 6" high . Don't get me wrong I like the idea , I have a sump extension on my Le Mans 2 , but it's only about 1 1/4" thick . Peter

30mm = 1.18" :cool:

The more I look , I guess I was just noticing how far it appears to extend below the lower frame rails in the above pics.
However , I just went out and checked mine ( Le Mans 2) and now I know why it troubled me , the BUB
header pipes run down and below the lower frame rails and blocks off the view of just how far from them
(the lower frame rails) my sump hangs , Duh , not the brightest crayon in the box . Peter
