Posted an update on the swing arm bearing thread, but thought is be worthwhile just posting another thread on the lower suspension links

While the main issue seems to be have been the swing arm bearings and lack of grease I found the 4 selts of needle bearings in the lower links wer in need of far more attention, to the extent that I've ordered a bunch of new bits.
Dropping this lower link set is quite easy, can be done without removing the rear wheel. Given the level of exposure these get to spray and road debris, its got be an annual check and regrease.
But to help is there a way of adding some mechanical protection in the form of a plate attached to the centre stand that neatly 'wraps its self around the lower links (and the O2 sensor).
I'm not too good with fabrication but a cardboard mock up and whipping off the centre stand should easy enough for some on here from what I've seen been made - any offers.
