Is there a mounting ring for the SW MoTech tank bag system that fits the Griso? Works very nicely on the Quota so it would be nice to be able to use the same tank bags on the Griso.

Thanks!

Ron

Ron, I also use a SW Moto bag with their attachment ring on my Breva 750 so when I bought a Griso, I attempted to find the proper attachment ring. After searching several sources and coming up empty handed, I contacted SW Moto and received a reply that they did not make a ring for the Griso and had no plans to do so in the near future. This was back in October of 2011. It's a damned shame that they don't make one because it's a great bag attachment system. I wound up buying the MG rear rack & matching rack bag for the Griso.

I pulled the SWMotec mounting ring off my Quota and overlayed on the Griso - too small. Inside diameter of the mount ring is just a hair too small for the gas cap to clear. I'd have to have a custom ring made (not out of the question) and then adapt that to the larger ring with the bolts in it. Oiy!

I picked up a Motek (sp?) small tank bag from Cyclegear (local) as I needed something for a day trip. I think I'll end up getting the Large Guzzi bag and just be done with it.

Sold the Quota so I'm missing the hard bags and the lack of a helmet lock. Didn't think that sale through!

I sold the Marsee bags with the bike (I charged extra for them); figure it would be cheaper to loose them than be temped to pay to have a new mount machined for them - that I may not like anyway. :?

I thought the Quota was hard to accesorise, the Griso should be easier but not by much.

Ron, There is a helmet lock cable that you attach under the seat on the left side of the bike, unfortunately it causes your helmet to rest on the stock exhaust, another reason I upgraded to the Guzzitech right exit exhaust.

As for fitting an SW Motech ring on the Griso you can, 2 or 3 years ago someone posted up that the decorative ring around the gas cap has threads on the back, for 3 holes and you can drill out the top of the ring to expose those for mounting the adapter.. it was posted on wildguzzi forum (impossible to search for crappy website). If you removed the ring and then went to Goaz.com in town and tried to figure out what mount uses those 3 mount points.

I have a luggage locker from my old bike and love the off the paint mounting systems for tank bags.

I'm not sure the gas cap could be opened though, the mounting ring looked a bit too small. So I sold those bags to Carl when he bought the Quota. But if it would work..........

By the way; do you use luggage with yours? Panniers/saddlebags.
