of course, if there is interest, (like 6 or so people) i might do another batch

If anyone wants to go through the effort and do it themselves, here is the code. This will work on any HAAS machine that will read an R value. If you still live in the days of I, J, and K, you have a little work to do.

All you have to do is adjust the depth of cut in the sub routines, set the "o" number, and off you go.

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

Hey Andrew...

Most likely I want the bracket... what's involved to install it? Wires long enought etc...blah blah.. by any chance did you thread the bracket for lic bolts?

Vivo

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

The plate brackets are NOT threaded, because a nut is much more secure. While there SHOULD be nothing you need to do for installation, i can not guarantee it, because it really depends on luigi's ability to build the bikes to be the same.

Same with the license plates themselves. The holes are oversized to allow for errors in the plates, but i cant guarantee the plates are made to spec etc.

Installing this unit requires the removal of the old fender, the removal of the fender light, and that's about it. I would reccomend an illuminated license plate frame, or LED bolts or something, but it isnt required because it's illuminated by the running light in the tail.

If you are for sure in, i need an email from you, sent to AVF@socal.rr.com. Be sure to include the best way to contact you.

Of course, i should cover my ass by saying something like

"This product is for track use only and is not intended for street use. MOdification of original equipment could result in a decrease in controlability, visual impairment, or the reduction in the ability of others to see you and may lead to serious bodily injury or death. Failure to comply with the pertinent laws in your state could result in civil penalties, motorcycles are dangerous and so forth."

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

Emmm Duh...

Of course I understand all of my modifications are strictly intended for off road use...ehhm.

I'll send you an e-mail... I have NJ plates, I assume the same as CA in size, not euro. You installed this bracket on your red Griso?

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

I'm in... sent you mail from belasemp2...let me know if you haven't recieved it!

Vivo

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

Sorry i didnt see this reply earlier. Purdy bike you got there.

all license plates should be the same size except for, i think it's michigan. One of those north eastern states.

Yes, i have installed these brackets on my bike, for fitting purposes. I continue to use my old crappy looking one, cause i only made four of the nice ones.

If it arrives between this wednesday and saturday, i will be out of town, and ill get back to you on monday. I will still have internet during this time.

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

Timbradley1,
If you are in i need you to send me an email at AVF@socal.rr.com, and please include the best way to contact you.

TO ALL

If i can get one more interested party, i might be able to do another batch on monday. It depends on a pending part order already in place.

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

Alright, this is a GO! Any other requests between now and monday/tuesday will be added to this batch

Given the timing, this batch WILL be powdercoated.

I have been astounded as to the demand for this kit. I can honestly say, i wish i had this kind of response for my aluminum head/plug guards!

TO ALL

Ready-For-Ship day should be tuesday/wednesday of next week. There is the possibility of it being pushed a day or two, but should be no later than the end of next week.

As soon as the parts are done/powdercoated, i will send out a blast email, and let all of you know.

Paypal is the easiest, followed by check, but i will not request payment until ship day. Those who wish to send checks, but want their parts sooner can send them anytime they like

Thanks for your support, everyone.

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

I searched the forum - what's the story with the aluminum head/plug guards? Do these replace the black plastic?

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

Yes. They look nearly identical, and they replace the stock plastic head guards. The picture in the link is of the actual aluminum guards.

They are designed to crush and give some on a big impact, so that you dont take your cylinder out, but they are a lot more rigid than the plastic ones, and wont crack off upon impact.

They are hollow, about .18" thick at the outside edge.

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

So, as luck would have it, there is one unclaimed tail piece remaining. AGAIN.

There were 5 people who wanted in on the second batch, but the size of materials available made 6, so i did.

ONE MORE REMAINING. I will most likely NOT be doing another batch, ever again. The jig required to make these is nearing the end of it's life, and i would need a lot of convincing to make another cause its a whole day's work.

Last one ever, serial No. 10. $85 shipped.

Thanks to all who made this project possible. The machine is running as we speak, and the parts should hit the powdercoater's tomorrow morning, meaning a wednesday ship day.

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

Hey Clam...

Get busy on the heal guards... I'll take mine polished alum /tainless... a soft rounded form would be swell. Make me say Mama Mia thatsa some swanky heal guards I gotta getta for my bike! You can sign them clam if you want with a little italian flag with da clam in the middle...wow so gggoood

vivo

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

I cant tell if you are joking, serious, or high.

?

I will do heal guards if you want, but if nobody else wants them, it's going to cost you a lot more $$$.

I think the stock ones look nice IMO.

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

No no... the stock front ones are thin metal with some stupid finsh on them. Yes, I am serious... I think you should do some billet type heal guards.

They just don't know they want them yet... well, I know I want them but I'm going to do the Rizoma (spelling) turn indicators too. The signals aren't cheap and they don't look it either. They also have the heal guards but I'm not certain the shape is what I would want?....but then taste is subjective... I love the Griso but I am not a big fan of the finishes on certain parts like the turn signals, gauge box, the top yolk finsh leaves something to be desired too. The plastic chrome stuff makes me ichy, it deserves to be something better...

Oh well... to each his own as they say. :woohoo:

Re:One griso tail tidy remaining

If you would like a set of billet heal guards, i believe i have some suitable material laying around, and i would happily make some for you, but unless others express interest we are talking probably within the $60-70 range. PM/email me if you are interested.

Most of the time and effort that you pay for goes in to writing code to opperate the CNC, and making the jig to hold the parts for profiling, as well as setting up tools and clean up. Once everything is set up correctly, making more than one part is just as easy as pressing the start button again, and the additional cost of material is nearly insignificant. Thus, the cost for multiple pieces drops dramatically.

The stock pieces are designed to be ultra light weight, (good) while performing the necessary function well, all the while not resorting to plastic.

But i could certainly make some that look cooler.
