Hello all, I recently sold my Stelvio and bought a Norge to replace it. I`m delighted with the Norge apart from the saddle which I find so soft that it becomes uncomfortable after 30 minutes or so. It would also suit me better if it was an inch or so taller to reduce the angle my knees bend at . There are saddle upholsterers around where I live ( Bedfordshire UK) so I can get this taken care of but before I do so I wonder if there are any off the shelf alternatives you recommend. I`m not keen on adding a gel pad sheepskin cover or similar on the outside of the saddle but anything else considered.

Thanks in advance.David

I had a custom seat made for mine by Corbin in the USA. For the knee problem, I put on lower pegs. Honda Goldwing ones work. I bought mine from aliexpress.com. I paid $47 CAD. You can often find used genuine Honda ones for cheap also. I can comfortably ride for many, many hours now.

Have an upholsterer add a layer of high density closed cell foam to the seat under the soft foam. I had that done to my 1100 Breva seat by Sargent in the US.

I'd follow John's ^ advice.
From my own experience with a VStrom seat, taking it to and speaking directly with the upholsterer will get you a saddle to fit your butt/height preference and far less expensively - and you're supporting your local business.

My Norge is super comfy, with lowered pegs, butt... from my Strom seat experience, will ask the same guy to 1) add the firm under layer for comfort and height; 2) cut back the lumbar support for option to sit back a bit more for knee's angle; and 3) add that cut off bit to the top of the lumbar pad if it will still fit the seat's remaining material, for added back support. This will cost about $120CND instead of a seat from (company name) for $6-800CND. Hope this is helpful.

I had the saddle of my Breva 1100 rebuilt and raised by P&P Seating based somewhere just South of Birmingham in 2016. I don't know if they are still going. I've seen their workshop, seem to be pretty well organised and workmanship is good. They also do postal work but for something like this it's best to talk to them. Hope this helps.
