My wife and I will be looking to camp along the coast this summer. and recommendations for campsies? Pacific coast motels and hotels are too expensive for regular travel/sighseeing.

Thanks!

STARTING AT SF HALF MOON BAY CHECK OUT MAVRICKS FAMOUS SURF POINT DUNES CAMP OUTSIDE MONTERAY PHIFPER IN BIG SUR AND FERNWOOD .......THEN SAN SIMON /HEIST CASEL PISMO BEACH ,,,,REFUSO,,EL CAPTAIN THEN MC GRAFT / SYCMORE COVE

Yrag, all of the State Park beaches are quite good (ones to camp at)... just be sure to book a reservation as they fill up quick, and you will often be turned away if you pull up without one. All of the one's James/220 listed above are good. Better get into them soon before Arnie has them all closed down for budget cuts.

You might try the Motel 6 chain......the one in Buellton, which is a perfect location, right on the 101 is only $53 a night......not much more than camping...besides, it is the home of Pea Soup Andersons.....all the pea soup you can eat for one price......and Solvang only five miles away!

Or about 20 miles inland from Morro Bay, on Highway 41 is Atascadero, and the Motel 6 there is $44 a night.

The rates are often lower on the Internet.
