Thank Christ for that!!!

With you on that one Pete, especially after I saw a more finished production version of the LM based on a tarted up 1200 Sport platform. :S

I'd be all for something new and exciting, especially if it was a 'Nuovo Le Mans/Daytona. Thing is Terblanche's efforts were simply showy, gauche, vulgar and ugly. Real "Look at me! I'm a complete LOMBARD and a moron to boot." bikes.

Pete.

PS. For those who don't know.

LOMBARD?

They also had little relevance to real world riding or the European market.

Guzzi sell most in Europe, and the models that sell best are 750s and retros there. What they need is to rework the 750 engine and produce a tourer based on that. A lot of people are altering the 750 classic to make a tourer, all it needs is a rack ,small screen and hard bags. With a new engine it would be even better.

I suspect that the bigger engine for the Cali, is based on the needs of the American market. IMO a reduction in weight would have been a lot better, I have never been a fan of ever bigger engines to carry ever more weight.

Not a bike for everyone's taste, but a bike that (especially if they put the 1400 cc liquid cooled motor in) would have possibly brought newer younger customers for Guzzi.

The pre-production version I saw from the Guzzi rep last year was not based on the Breva Sport. It did have a normalized headlight, but kept the nicer parts of the original design.
