I have been corresponding with Ezzio ( he is the national sales manager) at John Sample Group for a couple of months now about the possibility of a special one off import to Oz of a Stelvio NTX, the standard machine has two Achillies heels for outback travel in Oz , and indeed anywhere else off the beaten track and as I am planning a doddle from Oz to Europe via Africa they mmight proove to be a problem - they are well known issues - lack of knobby tires available for the oversize rear rim and fuel range. At least the NTX has a sensible rear rim size, and fuel range I can probably engineer a solution for.

So without further addo here follows the news:

Mike

Thanks for following me up.
We are still waiting for the bike to be homologated for Aust and at this stage it looks like thjis should be approved by end of this year. Therefore we would expect production for Aust to be either late Jan or early Feb 2010 and eta for delivery would be approx March.

Sorry I can't be more specific but until we have import approval we can't get the bikes produced.

I'll keep you informed as info is available.

Regards
Ezio

Now I am counting the sleeps - by my reconning should be about 165 to go before NTX DAY.

:D :D :D :D :D :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Of course something could still rain on the parade, Guzzi delivery dates are somewhat rubbery as we all know, but hey at least we are on the right page.

Dum de dum de dum off to bed I go, one less sleep to go, dum de dum de dum
