Greyo
Cruisin' Guzzisti
On a 2011 Griso 8VSE (27,600 mi).
Yesterday I was riding back from the Dragon in NC/TN. I stopped at a red light; much to my surprise, when the green came on, the engine would die instead of revving up any time I turned the throttle, but it idled fine if I did nothing.
A quick glance showed what the issue was:
I couldn't freakin' believe it - the rod on the right side had come off its ball joint on its own.
Apparently, the plastic socket has worn on the inside to such an extent that I had to insert in it a small piece of aluminum foil from a candy wrapper to make it stay put and ride back home.
Has anyone else had this problem?
What worries me is that the rod and plastic sockets are not listed in the parts manual - does this mean that the WHOLE throttle body will have to be replaced?
