Well guys... I closed the deal with the bank today on my loan. :woohoo:
I'm picking her up next week at a Dealer 4 hours away.
Has anyone got advice on a good Throttle Lock? Please let me know.
I'm going to need to get one asap to help my arthritic wrist.
Thanks very much gang!

How to go Murph... Good for you.

There will be many options here but I have used the Throttlemeisters for years and love 'em. There is also a knurled ring that has been attached to it made by a fellow on the Adv board that really helps in cold weather, heavy gloves on. I bet TM wish they had done it.

Enjoy the Norge... :)

Best,
Rob

There is always the fat o-ring between the grip and the housing. Be warned that this provides a "dead" throttle in that it will not close on it's own and must be manually closed. Cost, about 15 cents.

+1 on the Throttle Miester, I always keep tension dialed in it helps eliminate the snatchy throttle response just off idle on the Norge.
Give your dealer a call and ask him to take up all the slack in the throttle cables.

Good Luck !!!!!!!

I think it was Pete Roper that wrote a beautiful tip on how to adjust your throttle linkage. It sure helped me. Sadly, I believe that it was lost in the ether of Todd's crashed hard drive. But anyway, it's easy to do yourself, right there at the throttle control. Just tighten up the cables a bit just enough to take the slack out. No different than a bicycle cable.

Here is the throttle cable adjustment method again.

The adjusters are under flexible sleeves near the throttle twistgrip drum. Use 10mm open ended spanners.
Back off the pull-to-close cable - the bottom/rear one - so that there is tangible freeplay.
With the engine idling and the steering straight ahead, adjust the pull-to-open cable - the top/front one - so that there is no tangible slack.
Turn the steering to full lock in both directions and if the engine speeds up, back off the pull cable just enough so that normal idling is resumed.
Adjust the pull-to-close cable until there is just slight tangible slack at full lock in both directions.

Depending on your needs, you may also want to check on a Throttle Rocker or Cramp Buster device. They are not locks, but allow use of your palm to help prevent fatigue. I have even used them on both grips with good results. 65 Some people swear by them.......some swear at them.
They are cheap and can be installed/removed in about ten seconds.

Always ride safely and keep your airspeed under control

Man... I love hanging here at Guzzi-Tech. You guys are excellent sources of info.
I'm going to have to drop some duckets into the paypal kitty when I get paid this month.
