Anybody successful run a 190 50 17 without rubbing, just curious saw a deal on this size

If you're got even a .25" to the side between the swing arm, it should work. Keep in mind a 190 or 200+ is designed for the next rim size up; 6.0".

Keep in mind that others who have tried a 170/60 x 17 rear report a better handling bike with quicker lighter steering and faster turn in.

Going for the fat arsed look with a bigger tyre has the opposite effect.

Took the advice and picked up the 170, handling is definitely better and bike turns/leans much easier. Think this will be a permanent change for me.

Just to confirm, 170/60 will mount on stock rim? Think I would like to try this. Time for new rubber again.

That's what I installed on mine, this size was on sale so I picked one up cheap!

Yes, 170/60 is recommended for a 5.0" rim, but will work well on a 5.5" wide rim.
