2007 Bellagio (CARC) with 30,000k. I have a cyclical vibration felt primarily through the left foot peg, very similar to a tight spot in a drive chain.

Uni's/tail shaft has been inspected, and another unit tested. Engine & exhaust mounts re-torqued. All oils changed.

Symptom is most noticeable between 50 & 70kph in 3rde gear, needs low engine speed and more load.
Higher revs or speed it cannot be detected, dis-engage the clutch and coast - it all disappears.

Hold 3rd gear at 50kph going uphill, slowly increase speed and the tempo/frequency slowly increases.
Change to 4th gear & tempo/frequency drops. All disappears by 80kph.

I surmise an input shaft bearing close to 3rd gear, at slow shaft speed the loads are greater.
Any ideas? ...................................................................................Somebody, tell me I'm dreamin'.

I like to eliminate the easy stuff first. You have probably already done this, but have you done a TB sync and TPS reset recently? Since you are load and RPM sensitive, it could be sync, so at least confirm that is or isn't the issue. Once that is confirmed, we can go to more serious possibilities if the vibration is still present.

TB's and TPS checked a few thousand Km ago, but have fitted a V7 tank recently. Air path/clearance around filter has changed.

If its a tuning issue, then no damage shall occur. Will continue to ride but will do as you suggest in a few weeks.

Upside is, this issue forced me to pull apart my rear end and I discovered little grease in swingarm bearings and none on the splines. I paid for this to be done when I purchased the bike at 17k - ripped off.

They get regular check ups, had rear shock(s) in/out 20 times so far. Very easy without a tool/battery box in the way.

To digress; rider weight of 95kg/210lb and bike wet weight down to about 205kg/450lb.
I've tried an 11kg Ohlin's spring on a modified Griso shock, was close to the money and now mounted on another Griso, owner very happy.
My Matris came with a 120 N/mm spring as set up for a heavier forum member - too hard.
Tried an Eibach 600lb spring (about 105 N/mm) needed too much pre-load to get rider sag right.
Now have an Eibach 650lb spring (about 114 N/mm) fitted. Haven't taken any measurements yet but just the ride quality over rough roads is absolutely amazing. Obviously getting the right balance between hi & lo-speed damping helps.

I did the 'Melon Patch' today, Australia's roughest black top coated motocross track that the gummint claims is a road. WTF?
Handles like a dream, poised, controlled and last but not least, COMPLIANT! Most challenging bit is riding woops while cranked over, and realizing you need to lean harder. :D:D:D
