turn signals to running/turn lights

Hey All,

This has probably been covered but was wondering if any one has converted the rear turn signals to running/turn lights. I have a problem with my tail light intermittently winking out. My friend who was following me said I was very hard to see as I had no rear running lights. Will I need to change the entire set up or can I run a relay?

Check your state law. In WI, it's illegal to have amber lights on 100% of the time on the rear of a vehicle.
If you changed your turn signals to red, you should be ok, but make sure people will notice the directionals properly. Red on red can be hard to notice during the day.
You may want to add reflective tape on the back instead, or maybe extra lights.
I would just get the tail light fixed. Faulty connection somewhere, I'm guessing.

You might want to check with these folks:

However, if you are riding a V7C you are out of luck.

Here is the response I got from them concerning converting the turn signals on my V7C to running lights:

We are trying to reduce the wire cutting needed for the beta version. Currently it requires 5 places to cut, which our engineers do not like. They are trying some circuit changes so we can get it down to one or two.

That was almost a year ago and I have heard nothing from them since.
