I've just received a survey form from the Moto Guzzi Club GB asking about my experiences of 8 valve Guzzi ownership.

It asks what bike I've got (inc. engine number), did I get it from a dealer (& which one), did I get it new or used, has it got a full service history & the mileage. There's then a large space for me to fill in details of warranty work carried out (with the offer for me to use an extra sheet of paper if there isn't enough space!). That's followed by smaller spaces for my overall experience of ownership & for comments about the dealer.

I don't know, but it looks like the club maybe collecting our opinions to confront Piaggio UK about certain "issues" owners have with their bikes & the quality of service & warranty work needed. I hope I'm wrong but unfortunately I suspect if that is the case Piaggio will just ignore the opinions of their most loyal customers as they have in the past.

I'd be fascinated to see the results of this survey.

Why is it that there are so many failures in certain markets and very few in others???

And why Stelvios particularly?

Pete

The survey has been sent to all known club members owning an 8 valve Guzzi. This means only 150 odd in total, and numbers of Grisos was very similar to the number of Stelvios.
Yes, I knw there will be other owners who have not joined our ranks, but we don't know who they are and no way will we just make it available to everyone. That would be asking for every man and his dog to send in all sorts of rubbish.

IF anything comes of this, I will see what can be published. We might be able to tie faulty bikes with dealers maybe, or mileage, I don't know, but something useful might come out.

I posted my questionaire back today, I commented on my current new NTX that I've only done 750mls on, and my previous stelvio that I owned for two years. Two pals who recently joined the club also have Stelvios and will be sending their's in soon.
Lets hope we'll see the result of this survey.
